MY WISHES FOR MY CHILDREN

I wish for you
all the good things life can bring

I wish for you music
and songs you can sing

I desire for you
a place to live and to grow
a place of clean air and soil,
with plenty of seeds to sow

My wish for you is that
you will never live in vain

I want you to bask in the sunshine
I want you to dance in the rain

I wish for you
integrity, honor, and truth,

I want for you to know
the comfort of old age, and the carelessness of youth

I long for you
to live in peace and never know of war,

All of these things I wish for you
These things, and many more

I wish for you to know
the beauty of dawn's first light,
And I want for you the magic
of the moon and stars at night

I want for you the freedom of spirit
that comes only from within

I wish for you adventure where you go,
and peace with where you've been

Above all of this I wish
Happiness in all that you do

For what I really want
